Our
monthly Career Course has been designed to give you
the best understanding of floristy, it covers:
hand-tied bouquets, short and long vases, foam
work for table displays, weddings and funerals.
Students
will have the opportunity to visit London’s
famous Covent Garden Flower Market on the second
day of the third week of their course, where they
can see how the wholesale buying and selling takes
place and learn the basics of buying correctly
according to the requirements of the occasion.
Trips to see the Flower Auctions in Holland can
be arranged on a monthly basis.
Each
monthly Career Course begins on the first Tuesday of
the month and lasts for three days: Tuesday / Wednesday
/ Thursday. Starting at 10.00am through to 16.30pm
for four weeks. The months of December, January
and the month including Easter the workshop will
condensed into three weeks.
For
our foreign students the rest of the time in London
is your own, experience all that the culture of
Camden and London has to offer.

Introduction
– Treatment – Conditioning:First
steps in making hand-tied bouquets, including
guidance on the use of various greeneries
and foliage Commence hand-tied bouquet: am: Practical demonstration
pm: Practice Hand-tied bouquet
and gift wrapping

Further practice on hand-tied bouquets, different
styles for different occasions. How to transform
your hand-tied to a table centre or a wedding
bouquet.Wedding hand-tied bouquets.

Wiring of flowers for wedding or funeral work.
Instruction and practice.Making a headdress,
buttonhole and corsage for wedding.

Day

Introduction
to working with foam starting with table centre
and then pedestal. First Demonstration, then
practice.

2
Instruction
and practice of Candelabra arrangement- glass
arrangement -basket arrangement- all with
foam/oasis.

Instruction
and then practice in making a wedding (posie)
bouquet- first hand tied then in foam.

Visit
to New Covent Garden, answer questions, first
session of the theory of business concentrating
on Weddings. We practice a wedding design
of your own

practice on hand-tied bouquets, more styles
for different events. Table centre, wedding
bouquet, aqua packed.

Demonstration
Vase displays for contract work. Teaching
the business side of floristry, buying, selling,
costing, relationship with clients, ways of
promoting your business and marketing in general.

Instruction
and then practice in making a rose-head pyramid.
In the afternoon instruction and practice
in making a flower topiary tree.

Funeral
work. Instruction and practice with foam/oasis,
in making a wreath- double ended spray- a
bit more wiring.

Further instruction and revision in hand-tied,
more styles using different type of leaves-foliagel.
